The M72 is the first to receive Icom??s ??Submersible Plus?? (IP-X8) rating. Built to survive direct submersion nearly 1/3 deeper than any other Icom marine handheld, IP-X8 will keep the M72 operating after 1/2 hour in 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) of water. The audio quality is crisp and clean. A new Icom feature that helps that audio come through clear is AquaQuake. Selectable on or off by the radio user, AquaQuake automatically uses low frequency waves to quickly shed water away from the speaker grill.
